Maryland Live! Casino is in First Place When Reaching Out to Minority Owned Firms
Like the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals, Maryland Live! Casino is in first place when it comes to reaching out to small minority- and women-owned businesses in Maryland. On Thursday, June 25, 2015 Maryland Live! Casino, the state’s largest revenue grossing casino in Maryland, hosted its fifth Minority Business Outreach Fair. Over 600 small, minority- and women-owned businesses registered to attend the outreach event to meet with thirty two (32) prime entities including other casinos located in Maryland, construction companies, government agencies, public unities, and suppliers who provided information on current and upcoming work and/or contract opportunities. Several Anne Arundel County local government entities also participated to share their upcoming work and contract opportunities.
Reaching out to Maryland certified minority-owned firms on a consistent basis has earned Maryland Live! Casino distinctive honors. In 2014, they were honored as the Most Creative and Inclusive Gaming Facility in Maryland and in 2015 their Director of Purchasing, Charles Felton, was honored as, “Most Inclusive Purchasing Director of the Year.”
Md. Washington Minority Companies Association (MWMCA) is blessed to serve as Maryland Live! Casino’s certified MBE minority outreach coordinator and events logistics vendor.
