Howard Hughes Brings Diverse Suppliers to Forefront

More than 75 contractors representing minority, women, local, disabled and veteran-owned businesses turned out for The Howard Hughes Corporation’s third Contractor Outreach event, held on January 4th at the Two Merriweather Building in Downtown Columbia. Senior Vice President of Development Greg Fitchitt described the overall future plans for Downtown Columbia, while Senior Vice President of Construction Bill Rowe talked about the next phase of development in the Downtown Columbia’s Merriweather District and the potential for future business opportunities.  Hughes’ Portfolio Manager Brent Wise spoke about the company’s 14 Columbia office properties and contractor opportunities.

In addition, representatives from some of the area’s largest contracting and building companies were on hand to greet the business owners to hear about their projects and opportunities. Represented were Harkins Builders, HTI Contractors and Whiting-Turner.
