The Foundery Celebrates One Year

The Foundery, located at City Garage in Port Covington, opened its doors for the first time in June of 2016. Since then, the team at The Foundery has exposed thousands of Baltimore-area residents to a broad range of skills and tools utilized in the building trades, celebrating its 700th skills-based class this week! The Foundery has also partnered with the Center for Urban Families to host the Port Covington Manufacturing Bootcamp, a career-based workforce development pilot program with the goal of better equipping Baltimore City residents to explore opportunities in manufacturing and the skilled trades.

“We are a prototype shop, an incubator for manufacturing. The idea of this space is to build anything you want, regardless of economics status or educational background,” said Jason Hardebeck, CEO of The Foundery.

For Jason, what is most impressive is “the look on someone’s face when they’ve completed something they’ve never done before.”
