Archer Western is seeking qualified DBE subcontractors and suppliers for the MDSHA US-40 over Gunpowder Falls Bridge Replacement Project. This project includes widening and superstructure replacement of Dual Bridges Nos. 0303403 and 0303404 carrying US 40 (Pulaski Highway) over Little Gunpowder Falls and Dual Bridges Nos. 0303503 and 0303504 carrying US 40 (Pulaski Highway) over Gunpowder Falls. The bridges over Little Gunpowder Falls are two (2) span, dual steel girder bridges approximately 95-feet in length and carry a 44’-3” wide roadway in each direction. The bridges over Gunpowder Falls are three (3) span, dual steel girder bridges approximately 193-feet in length and carry a 40’-9” wide roadway in each direction. The project includes removal and replacement of the existing concrete bridge deck, girder replacement, partial removal and widening of the substructure, concrete repairs to existing substructure to remain, approach roadway reconstruction, approach roadway grinding and resurfacing, relocation of the gas main at both stream crossings, concrete stop pad replacement, and construction of grass swales along the outside shoulder of US 40 eastbound. For a majority of construction, all lanes of traffic will be open but one lane of traffic in each direction will be closed during one stage of construction for 60 days while school is not in session.
