The BLocal partner companies have developed the BLocal BUILD College, a program that provides training for small, local, minority-owned, woman-owned and/or disadvantaged Baltimore-based businesses in the design and construction industries. The BLocal BUILD College is a standing offering on a year-to-year basis that helps firms develop key competencies and relationships necessary for sustainability and future growth.
Training sessions focus on construction-, design-, and business-related topics such as reading architectural drawings and specifications, bidding and legal/contracting considerations, change management, project management, financial management/banking, human resources, business development, bonding/surety, insurance and safety/quality management.
The training sessions are led by experienced personnel with extensive knowledge of their respective fields, such as:

Additionally, the BLocal BUILD College provides an opportunity for firms to network and develop relationships with industry experts, BLocal partners and colleagues.
If your firm has been in business for at least two years with a minimum gross revenue of $250,000, complete the application form above to indicate your firm's interest in participating in the BLocal BUILD College. Applicants must have the ability and willingness to participate in Wednesday evening classes, which will be held once a week over a four month timeframe.
