The BLocal BUILD partners have developed the BLocal BUILD College, a thirteen session program that will provide construction and business training for small, local, minority-owned, woman-owned and disadvantaged Baltimore-based businesses in the design and construction industries. BLocal BUILD College is intended to be a standing offering on a year-to-year basis that will help the participants develop key competencies and relationships necessary to drive future growth. There will be two tracks; one for design consultants and the other for construction trades and general contractors.
Sessions will focus on topics such as reading architectural drawings and specifications, bidding and legal/contracting considerations, change management, project management, financial management/banking, human resources, business development, bonding/surety, insurance and safety/quality management.
The sessions will be led by experienced personnel with extensive knowledge of their respective fields, such as:
Additionally, the BLocal BUILD College will provide an opportunity for the participants to network with the industry experts and BLocal partners and develop relationships and contacts to assist them in the future.
If your firm has been in business for at least two years and with a minimum volume of $250k, complete the prequalification form to indicate your company's interest in the BLocal BUILD College.
